What could I have possibly been asked to make that includes pink, blue, and white buttons…?

Soooooooo because of all the money I’ve calculated I’m would need to finish Winter Soldier and (slightly more importantly) needing to pay for my travel abroad trip coming up in less than a month, I’m going back to my Casual Shep build but with an N7 hoodie twist. All I’m missing now is a belt holster big enough for a Nerf gun and a pouch to carry my phone and things.

Not in the picture: N7 dog tags because whoops I don’t have them at the apartment.

I’m also considering adding a few fake injuries to make this Citadel DLC Shep.

Based on the fabric samples I got, what costume do you think I’m going to make for next year? c:

Happy RT Community Day, everybody!

I know I said last week I’d have a big announcement, and here it is! I finally finished my Sailor Scout X-Ray cosplay (because I’m lazy and glove rolls are stupid), and to celebrate, we had a mini photo shoot around town since the weather today is just gorgeous! I’ve been messing around in Photoshop, and these are just some of my favorite shots! With bonus derp face because towards the end we were just messing around:

And trust me, I know poses aren’t my strong suit, but I’m really trying to work on them.

I know I’ve been away for a bit, but I’ve been a busy little cosplayer. And because I’ve been so busy, I’ve got a big announcement on the 15th for RT Community Day! Stay tuned~

Final progress photos of the night:

1 & 2: The pieces I have so far all together

3: Robo-fingers!

I have officially decided that I won’t ever wear the Winter Soldier in the summer, and that some kind of water bottle holding attachment for my belt is required. This thing is super hot, but because it’s super thin it kinda feels like it breathes well too. I will say that the rubber bands were the absolute worst part of painting (thanks so much to my dad for painting all of the rings and one band!) but since the rings are painted, I don’t need to wear them anymore. It’ll be a slow process painting, and it’ll probably turn into a ‘paint a little after work’ thing. I can also say that it’s incredibly uncomfortable with both arms, and that if you ever do this, make sure you either a. get a large pair of tights that will go over your head comfortably, or b. cut and open the neckline.

My arm was done following this tutorial. (It’s a fantastic tutorial for a Weeping Angel, but it has fantastic instructions on how to turn tights into gloves and paint them.

Uh, surprise!
I’m one vest, metal arm, and a HYDRA brainwashing away from a genderbent Winter Soldier.
I went to the local costume shop with my friend tonight to find cosplay items - a Raven cape for her, something Winter Soldier for me - and we had a ton of fun.
After moving and rent and other things, I won’t be able to commission any of the costumes I’d like, and I’m going to be a bit busy this summer so I won’t have much time to sew. And after seeing Captain America: The Winter Soldier, I knew I really wanted to do some sort of comic cosplay, and soon. Luckily, I’ve got a lot of the things I’ll need for this costume, so it’ll be quite a bit less expensive.

I’m also thinking of hitting up the Marvel shoot Friday of Con…

Whoa, finals are over and it’s time for summer, which means more time for cosplay and sewing (when I’m not working or moving!). So my first summer project is a new skirt - Marvel cotton fabric with a black trim and waistband. I’ll probably start it this weekend after I’m moved into my new place.

I think it’ll be nice for work, going out to the farmer’s market, dinner, and whatever else. I’m not normally a skirt person, but hopefully this will help change that.
